FEAR

Fear is an emotion that should be acknowledged and you should move on. The idea that you should embrace fear is garbage because by embracing fear that means you are elevating it which you are only making matters worse for yourself. To really understand fear it should be broken down into a two categories.

  1. A feeling or anxiety caused by the presence or imminence of danger.

  2. A feeling or reason for apprehension: a fear of looking foolish.

The first category fear can save your life. Say if you are walking down a crowded street and you notice two people going at it with knives up ahead of you. Before you get caught in the middle of it, you quickly cross the street or change direction.

The second category is mainly what this article is about. A feeling or reason for apprehension: A fear of looking foolish. I will give you a story about this.

I hated public speaking all my life, I wasn't ever any good at it and I believe this is partly why I didn't do so well in the military, part of my QL3 training I had to do public speaking in front of my peers and it didn't go so well it got to the point where the people I was presenting to thought I had no idea what I was talking about because I would lose my thought of words on what to say next or I would just freeze. If anything the military taught me was to PREPARE for any situation! I won't go into huge detail about my time in the military if you want to read about my background check out this (http://bisbeefitness.com/my-life-the-no-bs-approach/)

To this day I'm still uncomfortable doing public speaking but because of my time in the military I know I can speak to crowds it doesn't bother me anymore. What really helps is getting out of my comfort zone. I hate doing Facebook videos but I do it because my passion for fitness and my goals are bigger than the FEAR of doing Facebook videos.

If your goal is bigger and more powerful to you than the fear associated with it- you can push forward it find it a way to make your goal a reality

Hopefully by telling you this story this can help you accomplish your fears. Before I go I will ask you a few questions.

What do you FEAR?

Are you going to die from it?

If you answered no to the second question fear is ego driven. You can get past it but it truly depends on how passionate you are towards your goal.
