Being STRONG..It's A Skill!

I belong to a few dad groups on Facebook, and the other day a father (Alberto Casillas) posted a video of him doing an insane amount of weight, 2.5x his body-weight without any accessories.
So no weightlifting belt or straps. To me, this is the ultimate strength. Like StrongFirst says, "Strength is a skill."
I see all these videos with typical every day people AND fitness professionals wearing belts and or straps doing lifts, and I don't see the point.
If you can't lift it properly, you shouldn't lift it period. Granted if you are a power-lifter and you are lifting your absolute MAX yes, by all means, wear a belt and put on wrist straps but for the general population there is no need.
Paul Check says your abdominal muscles are your natural weight belt, and it truly is.
You don't put on a weight belt when you shovel gravel or chop wood so why would you put it on when you lift?
Something to think about..
