The Future Of The Fitness Industry

I opened up a personal training studio back in 2011 called Bisbee's Fitness Experience located in Brooks, Alberta.

I opened it up largely beside the fact that fitness has always been a passion of mine, but after I got out of the military my aunt, who was very obese and had cancer died. So part of the money I got from her, I used it to do something good and opened in her memory.

In those 7 years, I trained clients from all walks of life from people recovering from hip surgeries, or who had high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, people who have had bad backs, recovering from accidents, people wanting to lose weight, etc. it turns out they all wanted one thing.

They just wanted to do LIFE better! (If you want to do LIFE better, click below for a free consultation!)

With the state of COVID-19 upon us, to me, it has never become clearer where I think the future of the fitness industry will go.

There is a very LARGE percentage that is still not into exercise and healthy living.

48% of Canadians aged 12 and over — or about 12.7 million people — are inactive, getting the equivalent of less than a half-hour of walking each day, according to research from Statistics Canada.

That is HUUGE!

The United States is even grimmer. 28% of Americans or 80.2 million people aged 6 and older are physically inactive.

I don't think the fitness industry is doing enough to help. Let's face it. A lot of people do not like going to the big box gyms. They feel out of place and they don't like large crowds. I don't blame them, waiting 20 minutes to get on a treadmill doesn't sound like my cup of tea either.

With online coaching, you don't have to worry about any of that stuff!

But with COVID19 going on, what about to those people that are struggling to get back to their daily lives?

Or the Stroke victims that are trying to regain muscle control, balance, and coordination?

These people will give anything to get back to their lives and I think the fitness industry as a whole should do more to cater to these people because they need us the most.

There are amazing courses that fitness professionals can take like Applied Movement Neurology, Original Strength, Primal Movement, or the Functional Nutrition Counselor courses that go beyond the weight room and just want people to live the best lives that they can.

I am excited about what the fitness industry will look like in years to come because I think I will be right.
